Most key economic indicators aren’t available at the regional level. Instead, the data are only compiled for the province as a whole (in some cases, data is only available for all of Canada). However, there is quite a lot of regional information about the characteristics of the province’s population and workforce.

Regional labour force data is reported by development region. Although there are eight of these regions in the province, two of them (North Coast and Nechako) are sparsely populated, so information for these regions is combined. The development regions (shown in the map in Figure 25) are:

Each development region is comprised of a number of regional districts. There are 29 regional districts in the province.
